When Stacey Higginbotham of GigaOm asked Dudley if the <strong>DOCSIS 3.0</strong> rollouts were going ahead apart from the data cap trials, the response was surprisingly pointed—&#8221;it was scheduled as part of <strong>cbb</strong> [<em><a href="http://www.timewarnercable.com/corporate/announcements/cbb.html" target="_blank">consumption-based billing</a></em>] trial, but we all know how you feel about that.</p>
<p>Numbers are off, <strong>Docsis 3.0</strong> Channel Bonding isn&#8217;t increasing the bandwidth on a channel basis, it&#8217;s bonding multiple 6MHz. adjacent channels together that are the same speeds as <strong>Docsis 2.0</strong> (@ 256 QAM). Still have to free up some channels or bandwidth to implement 3.0. Most providers will have to upgrade plant to 1GHz. or remove some channels to implement.</p>
